In my eyes, my hair was too frizzy, my body was too fat, I didnt have nice skin, my clothes were awkward and even though I was liked by all the popular kids because I had learnt to be a people pleaser, I was terribly shy, there was no way I was in the league of the things I wanted to be.
I felt like I was able to be these things inside, and I even possessed the skills to get close to achieving some of these things, but mostly I was just a Wanna-be, and to a big extent I still am a Wanna-be.
The important realisation for me however is that I recognise now 20 years later from child, teen, and young adult years, that it takes a lot of attributes to STOP being a wanna-be.
I wasted a lot of years chasing wanna-be dreams because I was doing it to please other people, now I need to learn how to please myself without feeling selfish.
I wanna-be a super woman "yes"
To do that, all the Wanna-be things I wanted in my earlier years, they stll need to be achieved, just in different situations now.
I still wanna-be a popular, good looking healthy and a happy successful woman, who is the best wife, mother, daughter, and friend BUT it takes big steps and little steps to get past the outside obstacles and the inner storms.
How many of you feel the same way?
I challenge you to be the person you really wanna-be, my hope however is that you/I/we dont go about it trying to be perfect, but we try hard and keep going, we use our abilities to achieve great things, we fly through great storms, coming out the other side successful, and although cliche sounding, we fight the bad to be the best.
I wonder if I will need a cape?
